When Paisley was born I feel like I have been out of the newborn game for a while. Dylan was just 5 years old when I had P, but there were so many new, amazing products that have come out, while others are being recalled (I’m looking at you rock n’ play). When Paisley was just 9 months old, I found out we were expecting our 3rd baby, Kennedy. I already had a ton of products, but this really went to show what stayed around and what I was glad I invested in.
Here are my top 4 must haves that I used all the way through with Paisley & Kennedy.
Dock-a-Tot
Kennedy in the DockATot Paisley in the DockATot
It took Paisley and Kennedy a little while to get in the hang of sleeping on their own. The Dock-A-Tot was KEY! It has moved from the bassinet to the crib, and it travels so easy! I take it with us if we will be hanging out somewhere all day, anytime we travel, or if they were having a sleepover. They both snuggled right into it every time they sleep. The Dock-A-Tot was the best thing for getting both girls sleeping on their own, and There are lots of fun cover options, and it is so easy to change out!
Doona Infant Car Seat
When we travelled up north, it was the only thing we needed for a car seat and stroller. Dylan loves pushing his sister in the Doona!
I can’t tell you how many times I get stopped with people asking me about this anytime I am out. Honestly, I don’t think I have gone a day where I have been out and about, and someone hasn’t commented on it. This is the best invention ever! This car seat transforms into a stoller with the release of a handle in the back. It is the easiest transition, super sturdy, and great for quick in and outs of the car where you don’t want to hold a heavy car seat. I don’t think this completely takes place of a stroller since there isn’t any storage on it (and mama needs a cup holder at the park). But I love it for quick run-ins to the store, picking Dylan up from school, taking him to baseball practice, going into a restaurant, coffee runs, “I have to pee” even though we just left the house 5 minutes ago moments, dropping off dry cleaning, doctor visits.. ok, I think I’ve made my point. Totally worth the money!
Graco Sense2Soothe Swing with Cry Detection
This swing is nothing short of AMAZING! At about a month in, we were slightly going crazy. Paisley didn’t want to be put down at all. When I finally did lay her down to do something crazy, like pee, she would scream until I picked her back up, and when I did, she grabbed onto my shirt and wouldn’t let go. It was like I abandoned her for days. She didn’t like any thing we put her in to soothe her, so on a whim, I ordered this. She cried a little while she was in it, but with the cry detection, it changes settings until the baby stops crying. Once it found the motion she was looking for she slept – like really slept – on her own! This was groundbreaking for us. She has since started sleeping on her own, but she still loves this swing! We can put her in when she’s fussing, and within a minute she’s calm. Definitely a must have!
Joovy Coo

We used this in place of a bassinet, and we love it! Because Kennedy and Paisley share a room, Kennedy slept in this in our room until she was completely sleeping through the night (about 6 months). It is so easy to pack up, travels well, fits the Dock-A-Tot perfectly, and has plenty of space for storage underneath. When we travel with it we use the bottom space to store extra blankets and diapers, which keeps them out of the way in small spaces.
