February is over, and I am welcoming March with open arms! February for our family is filled with so many great dates including Dylan’s birthday, valentines day, my birthday, and typically 2 business trips, this year we even threw in a baby shower for my soon to be born God son. During this month there is usually so much planning, going and doing there is not a day where we aren’t running in different directions. Hence why I started this blog in the beginning of the month and have left it pretty much unattended since. Not the way I wanted to start, but hey, can’t go back in time now so lets move forward.
My new years resolution this year was to organize my life. Months like February are pretty common especially with such a large family. So my resolution was to create schedules, meal plan, and organize my home to make things easier for the days, weeks, or months where we are constantly on the go. I admit it, so far for this resolution I have FAILED. I started out strong in January and when February came I fell face first. You can definitely see this as soon as you walk into my home with Dylan’s birthday presents still sitting in gift bags on the living room floor.
But this is March, a new month, and a new start to put my planning and goals into gear! I have a lot of exciting things planned and I can’t wait to get them up and running. From a business perspective the first of the month has always been a day to evaluate the previous month and set goals and agendas for the new month. I’m not really sure why I haven’t applied this into my personal life until now. In order to achieve my goals I have written for the year I need to break it down into months, weeks, and days. Looking back on February I know that I need to get back on track to achieve goals I have set for the year.
First and foremost I have created and would like to share my meal planning printable. I absolutely love this! I make myself sit down and plan out our meals for the week. Not only does this help me save time during the week, but it also saves us money since I know exactly what I am going to be cooking with the broccoli that would normally just sit in the crisper. I can’t tell you how many times I would go grocery shopping with out purpose and end up throwing half of it away. Or order take out because I had no idea what to make. The important thing about meal planning is to know that it is not written in stone, you may have left overs and not need to cook, you may go out to eat or order take out, but this gives you a guideline and keeps you from the blank stare into the cold abyss of a fridge.
How do you make things easier for you and your family? Any organizing tips for this working mom? Healthy recipes to try?
