I got my boobs done in April 2021. If you missed the why, and want to learn more about that, skip here first.
I feel like this part is important to mention. I didn’t do a ton of research. I didn’t feel that I needed to know everything. I just need to know enough to ease my mind. I didn’t find myself down a rabbit hole of botched plastic surgery stories, or looking up what could go wrong. I didn’t want to. I knew that I was taking a risk by having an elective surgery. I wanted to know what I could have. That was important to me. I wanted to know that I could get the results I was looking for. I wanted someone to be real with me, and I wanted to use a doctor that others I knew personally had gone to.
Just know that everyone is going to have different questions, and the ones that I asked, or what was important to me, might be different for you. If you are thinking about getting any type of plastic surgery, I would suggest going to a few consultations. Those will help you know what to ask, and what’s important to you. You can’t expect the doctor to tell you everything, there’s too much.
What I Did to Prepare
Before I made consultation appointments I looked at boobs online. Yup, that’s right.. I sat on the couch scrolling through before and afters trying to find what I wanted. Robby helped too, I’m sure he was miserable.
Here’s a few things to keep in mind when looking at before and afters and judging them (you’re going to do it). There’s a ton of plastic surgery options out there for everyone. If you don’t like something on your body, you can probably get it corrected. All I wanted was my boobs to be bigger. I didn’t need a lift, I didn’t want to change my nipples, I didn’t want a tummy tuck (ok, maybe later, but it wasn’t in the budget this time around). I just wanted my boobs to be bigger. This meant that everything else about them was pretty much going to stay the same. The positioning on my body and my nipples were going to stay the same.
When looking at Before & Afters make sure you know and understand the procedure they got. If your nipples are crooked before you get implants, they will be crooked after you get implants. Just getting breast implants is not going to change anything other than the size, and maybe the shape, a little. None of us are symmetrical, the surgeon can get as close as they can, but at the end of the day, your body is not going to be exactly symmetrical.
When I started looking at before and afters, I was looking for the perfect boobs, that didn’t really exist. I had something to say about all of them and why I didn’t like them. But all I was looking at was the after. I didn’t pay much attention to what the before was. After I had my first consultation, I started looking at before and afters that were more similar to my body and my before.
I joined the group, Bust Mob. This was VERY helpful. I wanted to hear positive stories of people who loved their new boobs.
I also asked others who had the surgery. I wanted to know their experience, and how they felt about it now.
What was important to me
I wanted to be bigger. I wanted a pretty natural look with a slope from my chest to my boob. I didn’t just want a round implant. I was looking for something more natural, that moved. I wanted to go as big as I could without damaging my skin.
The doctor told me that she was confident with the tissue I had, the elasticity in my skin, and to get the look I was going for, I could get between a C and D cup size comfortably.

My Before
Before I got implants, I was a size 36 A. Even through all of my pregnancies, I never got out of an A. I have always been flat chested. Knowing this, I was afraid to go too big and not feel comfortable, or have stretch marks from pulling the skin too much too fast.
I had a mild case of Tuberous breast. There is nothing actually wrong, it is just a slight misshapen part of my boob. Because they were so small, you couldn’t really tell. With that, they had to make incisions on the inside to create a pocket for the implant, since I didn’t have one to start with. When looking up how to best show you, I was between a tuberous and small.
